Draconis obscurum is a magnificent instance of a predator that has flawlessly adapted to its environment. It is surrounded by cavern walls, and so it developed powerful claws with which to scale them and colorful plume on its inductive limbs that let it glide from perch to perch. Just virtually dangerous of all? Its agile camouflage, which lets it fade into the shadows and stalk its prey undetected. It has even adapted to the Nameless and The Reapers. Draconis' feathers will raise in warning when they are well-nigh, and this massive elegant lizard seems to exist the Reaper's merely natural enemy.

Domesticated

With its unparalleled mobility and undeniable power, Draconis obscurum is a highly sought afterward mount. Survivors who successfully bring i back from its nesting grounds volition of a sudden notice these caverns much easier to traverse, and that their enemies have get their unsuspecting casualty. Fifty-fifty its saddle and rider are affected past its active cover-up, so a Survivor's enemies will never see them coming.

Beliefs [ ]

  • Found mainly in the bio-luminescent and radioactive areas, Rock Drakes are aggressive and highly dangerous to anyone non in buying of a potent mountain.
  • Upon seeing a player (Using a tamed Rock Drake'south camouflage ability will prevent this unless in possession of their egg or unless you lot are standing very close to them.), they (and any nearby Drake) volition instantly attack them and are able to pursue them even up walls and in the air.
  • On acme of this, they are very often establish in large spread out groups which makes them hard to escape.

Advent [ ]

  • The Rock Drake is a relatively large lizard-similar brute covered in rough peel with in large round spiny scales. They look somewhat similar to their distant relative the Wyvern.
  • The Stone Drake'southward most distinguishable feature is its feathers. These help in its glide ability, and are most likely used as a brandish to rivals or possible mates. In the presence of Reapers, these feathers will frill and their irised tips volition glow.
  • Atop their heads, Stone Drakes acquit a small bat fly-like crown. This may aid their hearing in darker cavern areas where they cannot see every bit well.
  • Drakes bear a thick layer of colourful osteoderms running downwards their whole topside. This colourful arrangement may exist related to mating and/or rivalry.
  • In their camouflaged state, all that can be fabricated out of a Stone Drake is a shimmering event with a faint blueish line going effectually its edges.

Colour Scheme and Regions [ ]

The color assigned to the third region did not exist prior to 304.1.

This section displays the Stone Drake's natural colors and regions. For sit-in, the regions beneath are colored red over an albino Rock Drake. The colored squares shown underneath each region'south clarification are the colors that the Rock Drake will randomly spawn with to provide an overall range of its natural colour scheme. Hover your cursor over a colour to display its name and ID.

This information can be used to alter the Rock Drake'due south regions by entering crook SetTargetDinoColor <ColorRegion> <ColorID> in the crook console. For case, cheat SetTargetDinoColor 0 6 would colour the Stone Drake'due south "body main" magenta.

Wild Stats Level-upwards

Type in values of a wild creature to see on which stats it's emphasized. Green values on a high-level creature are very good for breeding. If you accept already tamed your creature you can try to recover the breeding stats with an external tool.[1]

Rock Drake

The stat-calculator does not work in the mobile-view, see here for alternatives: Apps

Notation that after the beast is tamed it gets bonuses on some stats depending on the taming effectiveness. This makes information technology difficult to recall the levels on a tamed creature, and then this tool is merely for wild ones, simply gives a first impression, how well the stats are distributed.

Press C to toggle camouflage on/off.

Gainsay [ ]

General [ ]

  • Wild Rock Drakes are almost e'er found using their cloak ability and will reveal themselves upon being attacked.
  • If you lot are on a rock drake yourself, using the cloak ability volition terminate anything (excluding Nameless if you lot exercise non have a charge source) from attacking you, and you are able to get in very close proximity before anything would attack.
  • Like to the  Griffin, Rock Drakes will bargain damage to nearby creatures when they striking the ground in a fast enough stop. If landed on the creature itself, the creature volition be knocked dorsum drastically, which can be fatal in cliffs.

Strategy [ ]

  • When a wild Rock Drake takes damage, its cloak will fall and brand it easier to meet.
  • Exist wary fighting them about molten element, since it is easy to go knocked in, which will most probable be fatal for you lot, your tame and your lite pet.

Weaponry [ ]

  • It is possible to use all tools and weapons from the back of a Stone Drake. This, paired with its wall-climbing and cloaking power, can make for a useful deadfall ready upwards. Note that when yous activate a tool or weapon whilst riding a Stone Drake, you lot are no longer covered by the camouflage ability and may aggro nearby creatures.

Dangers [ ]

  • The main danger associated with Rock Drakes is how difficult they are to escape. They can climb afterwards a player up a wall faster than climbing picks, and tin can even follow whilst you are gliding.
  • Their camouflage ability ways that they can easily go unseen past y'all. - be wary of faint blue lines when y'all are in the red/radioactive zone.

Weakness [ ]

  • Even when inconspicuous, Rock Drakes give off a bluish shimmer which gives their position away.

Taming [ ]

Similar to the  Wyvern on Scorched Earth, the  Deinonychus on Valguero, or the  Magmasaur on Genesis, adult Rock Drakes cannot be tamed. In order to obtain a tamed Rock Drake the player must steal and hatch a  Rock Drake Egg(Aberration), which tin can be unremarkably found in the Grave of the Lost; a region located in the deepest pits of the Aberrant Ark, at the very bottom of the chasm between the Luminous Marshes and the Overlook.

Reaching the Nests [ ]

Reaching this area on pes is of itself a dangerous undertaking; requiring hazard gear (bring spare suits, it's a long trip) to combat the  Radiations all the fashion to the nests, charge low-cal to keep the  Nameless at bay, and a brief run through  Reaper Queen territory. A strong, swift mount that is allowed to radiation is a must for the long road down to collect your first egg; attempting the theft without tames is more than likely suicide. A suggested route to reach the Grave of the Lost is to get-go on the Southern end of the Crystalline Swamps, which is the Southeastern most location of the bio-luminescent chambers (the 'blue' portions of the map), and enter The Spine region from there; just be conscientious not to stray too far East into Element Falls, where Reaper Queens spawn en masse. From in that location; follow the literal, behemothic metal spine overhead once you locate information technology, and it will guide you down to where you need to become.

Alternatively, ane can reach the Grave of the Lost past literally throwing themselves into chasm from any direction; such equally the bridge that juts out from the portal region, or from either side of the Luminous Marshes or The Overlook. If taking this road, exist sure to accept some method of controlling your descent (such as a Parachute or a Glider Suit) or your passage down will be met with a lethal bear upon on the rocks or pools of chemical element below. This method as well does not allow for the rubber passage of whatever tames you wish to bring with you (tames that are set to follow you off the cliff can be as hands met with death from the element pools every bit you tin can, and controlling their fall is near incommunicable. The only condom style to bring tames downwards with this method is to use a Cryopod). The best method is mayhap the old one; as without a Drake to climb back up for your first theft, you will take to walk back up out of the chasm on foot. Having taken the path downwards by foot the starting time time, y'all volition exist familiar with where y'all accept to get in order to escape back to base of operations with your prize. Climbing all the way back up from the deep trench using Climbing Picks is also ill-advised, as most are not durable plenty to concluding long enough to do so, and the frequent earth quakes are likely to dislodge you in the process.

Once in the Grave of the Lost, there are 2 nesting grounds to choose from; one on the Western half of the chasm, and another on the Southern side of the chasm, nearly 2 element waterfalls, which are passed on the way downwardly. To the far North side chasm is the last that allows archway into Rockwell's arena.

Stealing an Egg [ ]

Once y'all have found the actual nests, there are yet more hurdles to cross than simply the unsafe trip down. The nests themselves are located on the walls of numerous small chasms, that spread throughout a miniature cave arrangement along the Southern and Western one-half of the Grave. Some of these chasms can be entered and exited on human foot, only these are few compared to the areas that if a tame does in fact fall into the ravine, most creatures will non be able to crawl back out. Tamed Reaper Kings, Karkinos, and Rock Drakes are amongst the few, if only creatures that tin escape these pits, unaided by Cryopods or Tek Teleporters if they practise in fact fall in, and so exist very mindful of where you lot step. If the tame you brought down with you cannot jump out of these chasms, they will accept to exist left backside up above while you climb down with climbing picks to snatch an egg. If yous are going afterward your first egg and do non yet have a Rock Drake of your own, a tamed Reaper is past far the second all-time selection for this job; able to get in and out of the chasms, jump to most if not all nesting alcoves along the wall, and is more than capable of taking downwardly mass swarms of angered Drakes.

In one case an egg is stolen, the nearby Drakes will begin to swarm and attack, which tin be deadly if you have not yet reached your mountain. A good strategy is to target and kill whatsoever and all Drakes y'all discover before snatching the egg; using a long ranged weapon to tag one and bait information technology into combat with your mount. This tin be rinsed and repeated with as many Drakes you think y'all can handle at one time, until most or all take been dealt with, but e'er assume there is one camouflaged somewhere that y'all missed, and exist ready for a swift retreat to your mount once an egg is grabbed.

The act of adding a Rock Drake Egg to your inventory, or the inventory of your mount, will aggravate every nearby Rock Drake to assail yous, fifty-fifty if you lot are riding on one yourself. This mechanic tin can be used to "switch aggro" to some other role player if you draw besides many Rock Drakes to fight, past having them move a Rock Drake Egg from their inventory to the inventory of their mount - the game treats this as if information technology was freshly stolen and the Drakes will attack the new target.

Raising Your Drake [ ]

Unlike most eggs, Rock Drake eggs require a very depression temperature to incubate properly, chirapsia  Quetzal in lowest temperature requirement to hatch. Hatching the egg requires a massive amount of air conditioners (at least twenty, depending on the temperature of the surrounding) or a grouping of Dimetrodon (numbers required vary, depending on each Dimetrodon's damage level) with high impairment stats to increase their insulation. You lot need roughly 2500 Hyperthermal Insulation (as shown on your character screen).

Once hatched, the babies cannot exist fed  Raw Meat like nearly other carnivores. Like Wyverns, they require a special food to raise them, and will non swallow meat until they are fully grown. Unlike Wyverns even so, the act of getting this food is far easier than having to tranquilize a wild female for milk. Growing young Drakes require  Nameless Venom to stave off starvation; each feeding providing 400 food points, and they may even ask for it when imprinting. This venom is rarely obtained from killing (and harvesting from)  Nameless, an easy chore if you have a good, strong mount, and simply walk effectually the bio luminescent region (or specific location in Element Region, and surface cavern archway of Fertile Region) of the map without a charge light to depict them out. While babe Drakes lose food points more slowly compared to other young creatures much like baby Wyverns, it is still a good idea to build upwardly a small stockpile of venom before hatching the egg. The venom spoils quickly in a player's inventory, but tin concluding for several hours in a tame'due south, and even longer in a Preserving Bin.

For a possible means of finding out what your baby Drake volition exist like earlier information technology hatches, like Wyverns, the colors and stats of the baby that hatches out of the egg is dependent on the parent that laid the egg in the nest. For example, if the parent that was guarding the egg has a light-green body Region ane and heaven blue body Region 5, the baby will hatch with the same colors. The stats the baby is born with are determined the very same way. Finding out which egg belongs to which Drake though can exist rather difficult, as there may be many Drakes with the same level around the eggs that they baby-sit.

An important thing to note; if you chose to hatch your Drake in an inside, protected area, adult Rock Drakes practice non fit through Dino Gates or the Behemothic Trapdoor. If you haven't built a Behemoth Gate so make sure to get the adolescent drake outdoors before it fully matures.

Utility [ ]

Many players will find that one time they take a loftier-level stone drake tamed, information technology becomes their primary tame, simply because of how hands it can get around and explore on Aberration.

Rock Drakes, similar flight dinos, cannot accept their speed stat leveled. However, unlike flying dinos, Rock Drakes can swim (and are faster in water than running on country), they do non dismount the rider upon inbound water, and they tin attack while swimming. Not only that, but the Drake can launch itself back out of the water and straight into a glide, assuasive information technology to quickly movement around a body of h2o, or chop-chop reach shore to escape an underwater threat.

Like to the Glider Accommodate, the Stone Drake must maintain speed past sloping downward slightly while gliding or it will stall, causing it to pitch downward sharply. While gliding, if the Rock Drake is close enough to a surface (which is a pretty good altitude, 20-25 foundations), a blue crosshairs will announced while looking at the surface.

If the rider left clicks with this crosshair upwards, the Rock Drake volition pounce forwards towards that surface and and so cling to it (automatically engaging wall climb mode, if necessary). Unlike the glide, this jet doesn't have any issues with going up, and the rider can pitch the camera sharply upwards and trigger the pounce before stalling, causing the Stone Drake to pounce to a significantly greater height. This pounce is also available while moving around on the ground, with similar effect.

To enter climb mode (where the drake will automatically climb upwards and walls yous walk up to) printing right mouse on a PC, L2 on a PS4, and LT on an XBOX. Dismounting the Rock Drake while it is even so on a wall or ceiling will non make information technology autumn downward unless called to follow.

Roles [ ]

  • All-Terrain Transport: Although Aberration lacks fliers, the Rock Drake makes for an extremely mobile mountain, as it is able to traverse upwards and down every surface, and become upside down much similar the  Megalania, although stamina volition non be regenerated as long as it is not touching the ground, or climb fashion is agile. Along with this, it is also able to glide for long distances, is a very acceptable swimmer, and is capable of outright hiding from what few creatures are ambitious to it through its camouflage (this will drain its stamina). If y'all don't experience like hiding, a loftier-level Drake has nigh nothing to fear from wildlife either way; capable of holding its own in toe-to-toe combat with even Reapers. No affair the environment; be it the caves or surface of Aberration, the open skies of other ARKs, or the depths of oceans: the Stone Drake can tackle them all. On other ARKs, however, areas with few cliffs to proceeds height and large amounts of tree cover, such as jungles and swamps, tin can prove to be a nuisance.
    • Cave Traversal: With its climbing and gliding abilities, at that place is no finer tame to acquit you lot across the dangerous terrain of the Aberrant ARK than the Rock Drake. Traveling from the sunlit chambers of the Fertile Region to the dark depths of the Element Region, and returning, on the saddle of other tames is a process that can take an hour or more than. The Drake's abilities cutting that time down to mere minutes, provided you know where you are going. Indeed, the whole of Abnormality is practically designed to be a Drake'south playground; offering a fun and enjoyable riding experience.
    • Surface Explorer: Rock Drakes are among the only mounts that can arrive and out of the cavern systems to explore the surface on their own, without needing to build ramps or elevators. Their gliding capabilities and active camouflage brand them the perfect mount for farming loot crates up to a higher place during the nighttime hours; able to completely avert the dangerous wildlife, and provided yous accept the route memorized, they tin quickly get you lot back below ground before the sun comes up. Conditions become survivable on the surface between 1730 and 0530 hours, providing a twelve in-game hour window to safely explore and loot. Exiting the caves or staying on the surface even thirty minutes before or after that fourth dimension period tin can apace become lethal. To maximize your time on the surface, plan your trips topside during the x% 24-hour interval 90% night flavour. The current flavour tin be checked past belongings down the button that brings up the radial bike which has the tame groups displayed, and can be tapped to bring out the map.
    • Aquatic Transit: Whether y'all're browsing Aberration's large lakes or exploring the oceans of another ARK entirely, the Drake makes for a better-than-average water mount. It possesses a swimming speed and maneuverability comparable to that of a Spino, simply with a sharper turning radius, and it has 1 unique ability that puts information technology a cut above the residue: most to the surface, the Drake can jump directly out of the h2o. Once it is clear of the h2o and airborne, if it is currently in dart mode, the Drake will immediately begin to glide at the meridian of its leap; ideal for apace putting a swell deal of distance between itself and any underwater threat. The only serious threat the Drake will meet in this role is that of Cnidaria and Elecrophorus, which can lock your mount into a permanent stun and dismount you lot. Both can be entirely avoided as long as the Drake is inconspicuous and has not yet been spotted past the jellyfish or eels. If camouflaged and unseen, be very conscientious not to swim directly into them, or they will detect your Drake. Level health, damage, oxygen and stamina; perhaps especially stamina, every bit the frill of feathers on the Drake's head tends to obstruct visibility in commencement person view and using the camouflage feature is the only way to fight finer without switching to 3rd person.
    • Cargo Hauler: The Rock Drake makes for an excellent choice to booty cargo and passengers across the cave systems; able to accomplish resource rich areas speedily, and bring the compensation and friends dorsum dwelling house to the base. Although it can haul goods and one additional passenger, it cannot carry other tames similar flyers in other maps, pregnant it is best to either dismount the Drake and harvest resources by hand, or stake a claim to an area with harvesting tames; using the Drake to ship materials back and forth. Although it cannot carry other tames directly, if you lot take access to Cryopods, the Drake can easily get you and your working animals to where is needed. If being used for the transport of passengers, be wary of combat while someone else is with yous on the saddle; every bit the passenger is damaged by attacks against the Drake and is non concealed past the camouflage ability. For this role, level primarily weight and stamina.
    • Genesis 1 Mount: When you lot desire to get somewhere quickly in ARK, you have either a fast flyer (such as a  Griffin or  Snow Owl) or a  Managarmr. However, neither flyers nor the Managarmr are able to be ridden within the showtime Genesis simulation map. With unparalleled mobility on land and in the air (thanks to its ability to glide), and respectable aquatic mobility, coupled with good gainsay prowess, the Rock Drake makes an splendid Jack-Of-All-Trades mount in Genesis: Role one. While the  Bloodstalker is much faster above water, it is much less useful in gainsay, due to its lower base Health and Melee Impairment, and lack of armor provided by a Saddle.
  • Egg Thief: With its natural abilities for travel and stealth taken into account, Stone Drakes make for very fine egg thieves against their own kind and other species; able to get the many various nesting grounds and the nests themselves with ease, and capable of getting abroad or fighting off almost of the threats caused by taking the egg.
  • Stealth Tactician: Rock Drakes have the unique power to plough themselves, their rider, and their saddle most invisible (toggle with C ), although at a cost of slowly draining the Drake'south stamina. Non a perfect invisibility, this camouflaging cloak can still be visible by the shimmering outline of the Drake that it produces, just makes the brute far less noticeable still. This camouflage opens upwardly an incredibly wide variety of roles for the Drake to engage in; be it pve or pvp. While in this state and remaining mounted, all wild dinos (except piranhas) volition ignore the player unless attacked or directly walked into (Nameless will set on if uncharged nonetheless). This makes the Drake extremely valuable for completing what few Artifact Caves it tin can access, as the tame makes information technology perfectly viable to completely ignore and sneak past all hostiles upwards until the artifact chamber is reached. For warfare purposes, Drakes can cling to concealing surfaces with their camouflage active; laying in wait for ambushes, or be used as scouts to sneak into enemy territory. Since the camouflage covers both the player and the saddle, a tamed Drake looks identical to a wild camouflaged one; provided yous human activity natural and don't get likewise close to the wild Drakes, yous can hibernate among a wild population while trying to avoid enemies. Be wary of enemy turrets however, which can spot and target a Drake fifty-fifty if information technology is inconspicuous. In PvP, most players use extremely low graphics settings, which tin make a cloaked Drake even trickier to spot.
  • Reaper-Seeker: Their feathers on their heads will frill upwardly and glow slightly in the presence of any  Reaper King and  Reaper Queen not owned past its own tribe. Their caput will oftentimes turn left and correct to locate them when idle and mounted, even if they are directly in forepart of the Drake. With loftier enough levels in health and damage, a Drake can make a superb Reaper-killer also, and can exist used to obtain Reaper Embryos and Pheromone Glands from Queens.
  • Nameless Hunter: While other tames tin impale Nameless more speedily, Stone Drakes have the competition beat in how fast they tin become the spoils back abode. Nothing brings Nameless Venom back to base more rapidly than a Drake, who can go on younger, growing Drakes well fed when they need information technology. The venom is non just useful for raising young Drakes, but can be fed to adults; doubling as both a rich source of food, and a powerful healing detail that only Drakes tin benefit from. With each dose of venom healing 100 points of health, a quick forcefulness-feeding of multiple amounts can keep a Drake in a fight for the long run, or patch it upwards after battles.
  • Taming Help: With the power to permit both the main and secondary rider wield weaponry, a Drake tin be used to aid in tranquilizing many diverse animals. With a high health pool, it is capable of tanking the hits of aggressive targets while the rider tranquilizes, and with its mobility; it can easily chase down and corner the target when they brainstorm fleeing. Furthermore, since nearly creatures are not automatically aggressive to Stone Drakes, it makes tranquilizing relatively safety in dangerous environments. Be warned, however, that lining up a shot while riding on the Drake'due south saddle can be a bit tiresome. In nigh cases, a Karkinos is a improve choice as a taming assistant, just the Drake works well for targets that the Karkinos cannot grab and hold.
  • Escape Vehicle: With their ability to climb whatsoever surface, plus their abilities to glide and to cover-up the Rock Drakes can be used to escape things that are to unsafe for the players and their drakes to handle.

Notes/Trivia [ ]

  • Rock Drakes are based on the Drake species of Dragons which in mythology are Dragons without wings.
  • The animate being was first announced on October 13, 2017.[two]
  • Every bit seen in the trailer, the Rock Drake is capable of turning itself and its rider invisible.
    • Its camouflage behaves more like a futuristic cloaking device rather than natural transparency. This ability may exist a side issue of Rockwell's theory; that traces of Element have slowly seeped into the genetic code of the Aberrant Ark's flora and fauna.
      • This may exist why young Drakes need to feed on Nameless venom; every bit Nameless have high traces of Element in their bodies.
    • Although invisible Rock Drakes can be easily spotted by eyes, Tek Helmet cannot scan them.
  • Rock Drake spawns with vast diverseness of colour regions in the Wild, currently making them ane of the 2 dinos with the most varying color spawns.
    • This shares a trait with Tamed  Reaper Rex with its midsection colour region.
  • The Rock Drake's species is called "Draconis obscurum", which roughly ways "Obscure or Dark Dragon" in Latin.
  • Like a  Wyvern, a Rock Drake's max level on Difficulty five is 190.
  • Drakes practise not take fall damage, see Autumn Impairment for more info.
    • However, ridden Rock Drakes will take a small amount of fall damage if they detatch from a wall and land on the basis inside a very short fourth dimension (<0.5 seconds). This may be a bug.
  • Rock Drakes do non shift their camouflage by themselves when tamed. Almost wild Drakes spawn with their camouflage activated, and will deactivate it upon taking damage, but volition not reactivate it.
  • Although Rock Drakes made their debut in Aberration, they can likewise be found in Extinction, though corrupted.
  • Oddly,  Corrupted Rock Drake do not possess feathers on each limbs, but can still glide. Its camouflaged state still shows its feathers.
  • The Rock Drake,  Deinonychus and  Ice Titan are the simply creatures that possess an icon dissimilar from their dossier/hologram.
  • Rock Drakes are one of the fastest creatures to wake upwardly while unconscious, though not quite as fast as  Giganotosaurus and  Gallimimus.
  • Rock Drakes tin can be used against  Rockwell, though non against other  Bosses.
  • The Rock Drake is scared past Yutyrannus.
  • The Rock Drake's ability to cover-up itself, also as the dossier stating that it is the Reaper's but natural enemy, may exist a reference to the Yautja, more commonly known as the Predator, from the film franchise of the same name, due to the Reaper's obvious association with the Xenomorph.
  • Strangely, in the Grave of the Lost, where Stone Drake eggs are common, the Stone Drakes present volition affect the egg levels that will spawn in the areas where the eggs will be found.
    • For example, if several level 180-190 Rock Drakes are nowadays near the nests, eggs of their levels will spawn.

Bugs [ ]

  • Wild Rock Drakes spin and flail uncontrollably while they climb, the animations completely broken, although they can still climb properly, information technology is merely the animation that is not working properly. Tamed drakes are non afflicted by this.
  • A Stone Drake's gliding power is tied to whether information technology is sprinting or non. Normally, jumping while in dart mode volition crusade your Drake to go into a glide upon the jump. A bug exists where if your Drake is currently gear up to sprint way and yous dismount information technology, and so remount information technology, its glide ability will no longer exist used when sprint is activated, merely instead it reverses equally your Drake manually returns to walking speed upon dismount, and will begin to glide every time yous jump during normal walking speed. This can be debilitating during gameplay, equally when running from a Reaper while jumping, expecting to go into a glide, you tin instead terminate up falling to your expiry into a pit of chemical element water. To easily fix this bug when it appears, put your Drake back into sprint-mode, dismount, so remount again and the effects should re-reverse themselves.
    • This bug can exist exploited, as when your Drake starts to glide during walking speed instead of having to become into sprint fashion, gliding costs significantly less stamina, allowing yous to glide further distances.
    • Note: A similar bug can occur on controller with the actor and the TEK Jetpack, where ground based move is normal non sprinting, just every bound causes the Tek Jetpack to hover as if holding sprint. The fix for PC users for both bugs is to brew the Sprint key on the keyboard a few times then continue to apply the controller; mashing resets the sprint state. No, the jetpack does not bleed slower when this bug is in effect, making information technology more annoying than anything.
  • Leaving a Rock Drake in climbing-mode on certain natural surfaces exterior your render distance may cause it to warp elsewhere.
  • When an object is in the rider's hands, such as a gun, and fifty-fifty your map, your Stone Drake cannot glide. The Drake will even stop gliding in mid-air if an particular is brought out. To fix this, but put away the detail in your hands, and your Drake will brainstorm to glide normally over again. This bug was introduced by the Dev squad deliberately to counteract a completely dissimilar game breaking bug; long before Extinction released, holding a weapon while riding a drake allowed the drake to maintain momentum in the direction the actor looked, allowing drakes to accept truthful flight as they could fly straight up using this issues. This bug could be maximized by having the rock drake swoop straight downward, pull the weapon out and therefore accept gratuitous-flight while diving at acme speed. Equally for why pulling the map out causes the rock drake in the modern twenty-four hours to loose its ability to fly, this is probably due to the "patch" having the coating issue so that absolutely zip could exist missed to repeat the flight exploit.
  • On controller, there are several methods to gain a ton of speed in flight, from dash assault and flying country abuse to "bouncing" off of surfaces when experiencing moderately loftier latency. Many of these methods can be washed with a keyboard and mouse but are much more than difficult as with a controller, gliding is a toggle state, on keyboard, "sprint" must be pushed down constantly and mashing the sprint key can misfile the game. These methods are too numerous to list though the simplest is just diving at the ground and mashing the bound button when the rock drake lands, transferring all swoop momentum into horizontal flight speed.
  • After dismounting, a Rock Drake might start walking abroad from its dismount location for no known reason, even if it is following the role player. Information technology may continue walking indefinitely or stop simply a short altitude abroad; requiring you to chase after and remount information technology to get it under control. This bug is occasionally experienced on many other tames and at that place is no known way to prevent it. The bug may be tied to pre-queued movements in conjunction with a dismount, such as "flyer-land" or whatever other movement. If the dismount occurs and players are moved out of return range during this bug (such as via decease), tames may ignore terrain boundaries and walk under the map.
  • Sometimes wild creatures tin see through a Drake's camouflage ability, and will pursue to attack regardless of whether it is active or not. Whatsoever beast that will set on a Drake however, such as Nameless, will ordinarily only assail if the Drake is spotted earlier camouflage is activated, if it is speedily deactivated then reactivated, are attacked while inconspicuous, or you dismount then remount the currently camouflaged Drake. To tell if the bug is present and a sure brute can indeed see through the Drake's camouflage, be sure to avert those iv indicators.
  • Stone drake will have autumn impairment, when climbing mode is disabled while latched to a wall or ceiling. Height doesn't matter, damage still occurs. Damage amount varies with meridian
  • The Corrupted Rock Drake'southward climbing animation is not as cleaved every bit its normal analogue. Instead of wild sporadic spinning, it will run against a wall while slowly moving up. This issues is likely stock-still at present after patch 315.ii
  • Upon climbing an inclined or vertical surface the poop mechanic will treat the surface as flat ground when a Rock drake defecates.
  • If you get out a rock drake on a wall while invisible exit the server and rejoin the stone drake volition stay invisible and lose no stamina from it until turned on and back off, this can be used to your advantage if y'all programme on raiding a tribe or other.
  • The Rock Drake is one of the five species that cannot exist tamed, but withal can be acquired past the survivor through other ways, with the others being  Wyvern,  Reaper,  Deinonychus and  Magmasaur.

Lore [ ]

  • Players in game must tame Rock Drakes by stealing their eggs and raising them. Despite this taming limitation, in the lore Mei Yin Li managed to knock-out and tame an adult Rock Drake which she named Ao Yue.
